California's Oldest Dining District Needs a Modern Grease Solution

San Juan Capistrano is built around the Mission San Juan Capistrano and the Los Rios Historic District — the oldest continuously occupied residential neighborhood in California. The downtown dining scene radiates outward from the Mission along Camino Capistrano and Verdugo Street with restaurants, cafes, and wine bars housed in adobe-style buildings and historic structures that give the city its unique character. This is destination dining fueled by Mission tourists, Amtrak travelers, and the equestrian community from the surrounding ranches.

The Los Rios District along Los Rios Street adds a handful of beloved restaurants in converted historic houses and adobe buildings — some dating to the 1790s.
